How To

How do you plan your first Cruise?

Planning a cruise is just like any other trip. You need to take into account many factors such as budgeting, where to go and activities. There are some important differences to consider when planning your first cruise if you are new to cruising. You won't want anything to miss because cruises are typically longer than land vacations (upto 3 weeks). These are some tips that will make your vacation even more enjoyable.

  1. Book your cruise as early as possible - Make sure you book at least six months before you depart. This allows you to save money and avoid crowds. Plus, you'll have plenty of time to research the ship, itinerary, ports, and activities. You might even find an airfare deal!
  2. Choose a destination - It doesn't matter which port you choose; just pick one that appeals to you. There are many reasons why people love to cruise. Some love to travel while others prefer to relax and unwind on the boat. Whatever your preferences, you should remember which destination you would like to visit. A popular choice is a Caribbean island, followed closely by Europe and Alaska.
  3. Booking a Suite is a good option if money is not an issue. Suites include extra space, a private terrace, and additional amenities. These suites are typically available for between $100 and $300 per night depending on the size of the room and availability of suites during the sailing date.
  4. Check the weather forecast - Cruising is often associated with warm tropical climates. Don't forget about checking the weather forecasts when you visit ports. It's unpredictable in the ocean, especially in Antarctica or Alaska, so it is important to be aware of what the weather might be like before you book your cruise.
  5. Keep it light when packing for a cruise. You should only bring 10 items. This means that you don't need to pack a lot of clothes and shoes in your suitcase. Pack everything in small bags that you can carry on. Layer clothing, as you won't be able wash it at all on board.
  6. Do your research - Read online reviews before buying tickets. Check out their cancellation policies and pricing.
  7. These must-see locations are not to be missed. Make sure to visit each port at the very least once. Each area has its own charms and culture so you should take advantage of every opportunity.
