The ship
Celebrity Apex was the second ship of the Edge series, a class of cruise ships designed to bring the ocean closer for passengers. This is done through innovative spaces and features. Kelly Hoppen CBE along with Tom Wright and Nate Berkus created a smart, clean design.
The 'Edge" balconies, which are visionary spaces that allow you to enjoy the changing landscapes of the ship's surroundings, are the main features. But there is much more on board. The ship offers a range of entertainment, including a newly renovated Eden theatre that now features one show per evening on seven-night journeys.
Staterooms, suites and other accommodations
There is a wide range of room categories available to accommodate every guest. From king size rooms to ultra luxurious suites such as Iconic Suites or Edge Villas. The majority of staterooms offer a balcony, while some have a full-sized outdoor plunge pool.
A touchscreen is also available in each stateroom, allowing you to adjust the lighting and temperature. Most staterooms come with a king bed. However, some also include queen beds.

Children and teenagers
Celebrity Apex has a Camp at Sea programme that offers plenty for children. There are over 500 activities, which change depending on the itinerary and guest.
Dining
The ship has a wide range of restaurants and bars, both free for guests as well as those with a set fee. We particularly liked Craft Social, which focuses on pub grub - including glazed chicken wings and truffle fries - but there are also a few main dining room options.
Oceanview Cafe's buffet is bigger and lighter than before, thanks to a double-height area that makes it seem spacious. There's some slowness at times but a wide variety of food.
Enjoyment
It's a shame that the cruise line didn't have time to add more entertainment to Apex before our cruise - if it had, we could have had some really good nights out on board. Eden theatre is a completely new venue, featuring four shows with different themes: Night of Dreams (Night of Arts), Night of Enchantment (Night of the Year) and Night of the Year.
Even the ship's fitness center gets a reboot, with classes and the latest equipment that's more than a step up from what you'll find on Edge. You can also enjoy a relaxing massage or spa treatment with views of the ocean, just like the rest of Celebrity’s fleet.

What's more, there's a vast array of things to do on the Resort Deck, from the Magic Carpet cantilevered venue that moves 13 stories above the sea so you can enjoy just-above-the-sea dining and sunset celebrations to an adults-only solarium that provides respite from the sun.
You'll also love the vast array of options for entertainment, ranging from comedy clubs and live shows to movies and game shows. The resort deck has its own swimming pool and a club that offers laser mazes as well games and kid-friendly activities.

How To
How to avoid seasickness on a cruise
Wearing a hat on a cruise will help you avoid getting seasick. A wide-brimmed head hat can prevent motion sickness. It keeps the head still and helps keep it from moving.
The hat keeps water from the face and reduces the moisture in the air. This makes it easier for people who feel dizzy when they breathe in moist, humid air.
Another tip: Drink lots of fluids. Avoid alcohol or caffeine. These drinks dehydrate our bodies, which makes it difficult for fluid to move around in our stomachs. Consuming enough fluids can help lower the salt levels in your bloodstream. Salt causes the body and kidneys to retain water. This can lead to nausea.
If you do feel nauseous, try eating something salty. Salty foods make the stomach produce more hydrochloric Acid, which is helpful in breaking down food particles.
There are medication options available to help seasickness. Side effects may include dry mouth or constipation, blurred eyes, headaches, dry mouth, dry eye, dry nose, dry mouth, dry stomach, dry mouth, dry vision, dry cough, and dry eyes.
